Find and fix sitemap errors
A file can be well-formed XML and still contain poor entries. Start by inspecting missing loc values, repeated URLs, invalid schemes and date formats. Revbu reports the original row number so you can correct the generator rather than edit a file that will be overwritten.
For example, two entries pointing to https://example.com/about are duplicates. A priority value of 1.5 is outside the permitted 0–1 range. The date 2026-02-30 is not a real calendar date. Fix the source data, regenerate the file and repeat the check.
A mixed-host warning is a prompt to check ownership and sitemap scope, not a universal rejection. The checker does not fetch every listed URL, verify redirect destinations or perform the full sitemap XSD schema validation. Download CSV to sort the flagged rows and JSON to preserve all fields.
After structural fixes, separately sample the listed pages for HTTP status, canonical and noindex. Do not label the file accepted or indexed until the search engine reports that status. Submission, discovery, crawling and indexing are separate steps.
