How to download a Tumblr video

Preview a public Tumblr video from its post link and save the MP4 file.

Copy the post link

Open the Tumblr post containing the video. Copy its post link from the share menu. Use a single post address rather than the blog home page. Both https://www.tumblr.com/blog/123456789 and https://blog.tumblr.com/post/123456789 formats are supported.

Find and preview the video

Paste the link into Revbu and select Download. If supported Tumblr video is available, the result page displays an MP4 card. Check it in the player, then use Download MP4.

Save it on your device

Desktop browsers usually save files to Downloads. On a phone, the browser may open the file or ask where to save it. Check the browser download list and your device’s Files app.

Why a video may be missing

Private and login-required posts are unsupported. YouTube, Vimeo and other external players are not downloaded by this tool. The post may have been removed, or Tumblr’s public data may not expose its media. Each file is limited to 100 MB and result links last 30 minutes.
